Harold Ruvoldt

Harold Ruvoldt is an experienced trial attorney and business advisor who has tried more than 150 cases across the United States — as prosecutor, criminal defense attorney, and civil litigator. His present practice primarily involves representing companies in complex civil litigation, including representation of clients who confront regulatory SEC and white-collar criminal issues.

In addition to internal investigations, Harold’s work includes guiding companies in preserving and showcasing their corporate integrity. He has represented, and continues to represent, financial institutions. He is a former county prosecutor for Hudson County, NJ, and a former county counsel and city attorney for Jersey City, New Jersey’s second largest city. As a young lawyer, Harold started the case of Robinson vs. Cahill, which resulted in a New Jersey Supreme Court order directing the restructuring of the finance system for public education throughout New Jersey.

Harold was formerly a litigation-business partner at Hodgson and Ross and a partner in Nixon Peabody’s business-litigation practice group, which he joined after serving as a partner at the New York City office of Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge. Harold also served as the partner in charge at the New York City office of Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge. Harold earned a B.S. from St. Peter’s College. He holds a J.D. from Seton Hall University. He obtained his M.B.A. from Rutgers University Graduate School of Management, and attended a post-graduate study of International Business at Wolfson College, Cambridge University. He speaks and writes nationally and internationally on matters pertaining to litigation and corporate integrity and has been regularly recognized as a New York Super Lawyer. Harold’s work has been the subject of books and magazine and newspaper articles including: “Other People’s Children”, “The Right to Learn”, “The Other Side of Justice”, and “The Horizon Just Moved”.
