Harry Connick, Jr. was born and raised in his beloved New Orleans, LA which, has become the foundation to his musical style. Harry began performing as a pianist and singer at the young age of five. Eventually moving to New York, Harry signed to Columbia Records at the age of 18. Harry’s career has racked up a total of three Grammy awards, two Emmy Awards, two Tony nominations, an induction into the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame, sales of over 28 million albums, a Christmas album and a slew of rave reviews.
Harry has become a go-to artist for important events including performances at Pope Benedict XVI’s Yankee Stadium mass, the NBA All-Star Game held in New Orleans (where he served as musical director) and the National Anthem at Super Bowl XXVI.
Harry has starred in motion picture films, in television shows, even made a debut on Broadway, where Harry received Tony nominations as both composer/lyricist for the musical Thou Shalt Not and as the lead in the Tony-winning revival of The Pajama Game.
Harry Connick Jr. has most recently been inspired to take his career to yet another level as he embarks on his new venture as host and executive producer of his own nationally syndicated entertainment show, “HARRY.”
