Holland Taylor

Holland Taylor, an accomplished American actress, has a distinguished career spanning several decades. She began her journey in the theater, appearing in numerous Broadway and off-Broadway productions throughout the 1960s, '70s, and '80s. Her role in the sitcom "Bosom Buddies" with Tom Hanks in the '80s brought her into the limelight. Taylor's talent for both comedy and drama is evident in her roles ranging from Denise Cavanaugh on the soap opera "The Edge of Night" to her part in Norman Lear's "The Powers That Be". She also showcased her versatility in the ABC detective series "Me and Mom" and the sitcom "Harry".

Taylor's prowess as an actress is further demonstrated by her numerous Primetime Emmy Award nominations, and her win for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role on ABC's "The Practice". She continued to shine in popular sitcoms such as "Two and a Half Men", for which she received four more Emmy nominations. Taylor's film credits are equally impressive, with roles in well-known films such as "Romancing the Stone", "The Truman Show", and "Legally Blonde". Not limiting herself to acting, Taylor wrote and starred in the one-woman play, "Ann", based on the life and work of Ann Richards, for which she was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Lead Actress. She also starred in the Broadway play “N/A” in 2024 playing a character loosely based on former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.

Apart from her acting career, Taylor has used her influence for philanthropic causes. She has been a supporter of Aid for AIDS in Los Angeles and regularly participates in their annual fundraiser, the Best in Drag Show.
