How To Dress Well is the stage name of songwriter and producer Tom Krell. His career began in 2009 when, upon moving from Brooklyn to Berlin, he posted a string of free EPs in anonymity on his blog. Combining a gorgeous falsetto with fractured R&B-influenced beats, an instinctive ear for devastating melody, and sound collage composition, Krell’s debut album "Love Remains" plucked from those early efforts and offered a window into a startlingly artistic imagination. With 2012’s stunning follow up, "Total Loss," many of the best elements from the debut remained — including that voice — but the production tightened and soared. An overarching theme of loss, solitude, and love runs throughout, lending a universality to the whole work and creating a palpable sense of catharsis. In 2014, Krell released the acclaimed “What Is This Heart?”
