Hunter Armstrong

Hunter Armstrong is a competitive swimmer and former member of the Ohio State University swim team. He holds the world record in the long-course 50-meter backstroke. At the 2022 World Aquatics Championships, Armstrong was successful in obtaining a silver medal in the 50-meter backstroke, a bronze in the 100-meter backstroke, and gold medals in the 4×100 meter freestyle relay and 4×100 meter mixed medley relay. In addition, he bagged a silver medal in the 4×100 meter medley relay.

Armstrong's accolades continue with his performance at the 2020 Summer Olympics. He secured a gold medal in the 4×100 meter medley relay and placed ninth in the 100-meter backstroke. His prowess in the 100-meter backstroke was again demonstrated at the 2020 US Olympic Trials, where he placed second, qualifying for the 2020 Olympic Games. During these games, Armstrong swam the backstroke leg of the medley relay in the prelims of the 4x100 meter medley relay. His impressive contributions to the sport have earned him multiple gold, silver, and bronze medals at various international championships. At the 2024 Olympics, Armstrong bagged the gold medal for the men's 4x100-meter freestyle relay and a silver in the men's 4x100-meter medley relay.

His career achievements extend to his time at Ohio State University, where he made a name for himself at events such as the Big Ten Championships and NCAA Championships. Among his notable performances, Armstrong set new records at both the Big Ten Championships and International Team Trials. He was also named Ohio State University's Athlete of the Year in 2022 and earned the title of Big Ten Conference Swimmer of the Week in January 2022.
