A lifelong creative and one-time college dropout, Ingrid Nilsen is the Co-founder, Maker and Chief Creative Officer of THE NEW SAVANT. She loves working with fragrance, dreaming up new scents and bringing her online community slow, IRL experiences that connect on a personal level.
Prior to founding THE NEW SAVANT, Nilsen spent 10+ years as a YouTube creator. She built an inclusive space for her 6+ million followers with lifestyle and beauty content that encouraged radical self-acceptance, challenged cultural norms and embraced change through personal growth. In 2011 she was honored with the Streamy Award for Best Beauty Program and was the first digital creator to land a long-term endorsement deal with Covergirl. She went on to be the face of BareMinerals, helping them to launch new products for a broader range of skin tones, and later, was proud to develop original products with Jo Malone London and Fresh Beauty.
Since retiring as a professional content creator in June 2020, Nilsen has been reconnecting to her roots as a maker, crafting candles by hand, mixing scents and dreaming up THE NEW SAVANT. This new chapter is an homage to her untraditional, self-made path in life.
