J.D. Greear Biography
J.D. Greear is the lead pastor of The Summit Church in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina. Under his leadership, The Summit Church has planted 11 churches. Greear now pastors nearly 10,000-weekend attendees at The Summit Church and is dedicated to planting churches both within the United States and abroad.
Prior to joining Summit, Greear worked with the International Mission Board.
He completed his doctorate in theology at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina.He is also a graduate of the Word of Life Bible Institute and received his Bachelor of Arts from Campbell University. Prior to studying Christian and Islamic theology at Southeastern, he worked for two years in predominately Muslims populations in Southeast Asia.
He is also the author Breaking the Islam Code and GOSPEL: Recovering the Power that Made Christianity Revolutionary. He is also the author of multiple publications and curriculums.
