Jack Thorne

Jack Thorne is a British playwright, television writer, screenwriter, and producer who has made significant contributions to both the theatre and television industry. His work on "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" and films like "Wonder" and "Enola Holmes" have established him as a prominent figure in the industry. Thorne also co-wrote the third instalment in the Tron film franchise, "Tron: Ares." His recent mini-series "Toxic Town" and "Adolescence," released on Netflix in 2025, garnered widespread critical acclaim. Thorne's theatre credits include "The Motive and the Cue," directed by Sam Mendes, and the play "When Winston Went to War with the Wireless," both of which premiered in 2023.

Thorne's television credits are extensive, including writing for popular TV shows such as "Skins" and "Shameless." He co-created "Cast Offs" and co-wrote "This Is England '86," "This Is England '88," "This Is England '90," and "The Virtues" with Shane Meadows. Thorne's work has received numerous accolades, including BAFTA awards for "The Fades" and "This Is England '88" in 2012. As an advocate for disabled voices in the television industry, Thorne co-founded the pressure group Underlying Health Condition and is a patron of the Graeae Theatre Company. He was involved in The TV Access Project (TAP), which aims for full inclusion of Deaf, Disabled, and Neurodivergent Talent in the UK television industry by 2030.
