Jake Hoot

Jake Hoot is an American country singer-songwriter from Corpus Christi, TX, best known for winning Season 17 of NBC's "The Voice." The second of nine siblings, Hoot's parents were Christian missionaries, leading the family to relocate to the Dominican Republic when he was nine years old. During his 11 years there, Hoot became fluent in Spanish, learned to play the guitar, and developed a deep appreciation for music.

Upon returning to the United States, Hoot attended Tennessee Tech University, where he walked on to the football team and later graduated with a degree in interdisciplinary studies. While in Tennessee, he began performing at local venues, steadily building a reputation in the regional music scene.

In 2019, Hoot auditioned for "The Voice," delivering a rendition of Luke Combs' "When It Rains It Pours." Despite receiving only one chair turn from coach Kelly Clarkson, he joined her team and ultimately won the competition, marking Clarkson's third win as a coach.

Following his victory, Hoot released his debut single, "Better Off Without You," which he performed during "The Voice" finale. He made his Grand Ole Opry debut on February 4, 2020, a significant milestone for any country artist. In 2021, he collaborated with Kelly Clarkson on the duet "I Would've Loved You," showcasing his vocal prowess and songwriting abilities. Continuing to write and perform, Hoot draws inspiration from his family and faith, aiming to create music that resonates with listeners worldwide.
