Jaleel White is an actor, writer, and producer, with his most notable role as Steve Urkel on the hit TV show "Family Matters." White embarked on his acting career at a young age, with roles in commercials and small television roles. His defining role arrived in 1989 when he was cast as Steve Urkel on "Family Matters." Initially slated for a one-time guest appearance, White's performance garnered a significant positive response from audiences, leading to his character becoming a series regular. This role catapulted Steve Urkel into becoming a cultural phenomenon and one of the most recognizable characters in television history.

White lent his voice to the popular animated series "Sonic the Hedgehog," voicing the titular character, and made appearances in television series such as "Psych," "The Big Show Show," and "House." White also hosted the Syfy game show "Total Blackout" in 2012 and currently hosts the CBS game show "Flip Side," which debuted in 2024. He competed in season 14 of "Dancing with the Stars" in 2012, finishing in 7th place.
