Jamie Durie

International award-winning designer and author Jamie Durie started his design practice 19 years ago in February 1998. Since then he and his team at Durie Design have received over 33 international design awards including a gold medal at the Chelsea flower show in London and further gold medals received in Singapore, Tokyo, Auckland NZ, Melbourne, and Durie’s place of birth, Sydney.

In 2001 Durie made his debut into furniture design when he and his team were asked to design various pieces of custom furniture for several upmarket hotels and resorts first in Spain, with several more in Asia, Australia and the Middle East. After launching several design collaborations in Europe his furniture his furniture is now retailed worldwide.

His accolades in interior furniture design include an award received in December 2014 for the design of his Elle Ecrite Desk for Riva1920 and was followed by another for the Rainbow Modulare wall unit at the London Design Awards. In May 2014 he was awarded the New York Design Award for his interior dining chair titled, The Tubular Chair. The Bungalow Armchair in hand woven leather was also a finalist.

He is also a television host and producer, and has hosted many of Australia's top-rating television programs, including "The Outdoor Room," "Australia's Best Backyards," "Backyard Blitz" - for which he received the Logie award for Most Popular Male Talent, as well as six consecutive Logie awards for Most Popular Lifestyle Program, The Block and Torvill and Dean's Dancing on Ice.

In the US, Durie has hosted "The Outdoor Room," the dynamic design makeover show "HGTV Showdown," as well as America's longest-running gardening program "The Victory Garden," which airs on PBS, and appears regularly on The Oprah Winfrey Show offering garden advice and inspiration.
