Jamie Wheal

Jamie Wheal is the Executive Director of the Flow Genome Project and a leading expert in the neurophysiology of human performance. His work combines a background in expeditionary education, wilderness medicine, and surf rescue, with over a decade of advising high-growth companies on strategy, execution, and leadership. Wheal specializes in peak performance and leadership with a focus on the neuroscience and application of Flow states.

Wheal's coaching extends to a diverse range of clients, including Fortune 500 companies like Cisco and Google, as well as high-performance organizations such as the U.S. Naval War College and Red Bull athletes. He speaks on topics such as high-performance teamwork, the revolutionizing of work and life by Silicon Valley and Navy SEALs, and the neurophysiology of peak performance, engaging audiences at venues like Young President's Organization, Summit Series, TED, and MaiTai Global. At the Flow Genome Project, he leads a team aiming to map the genome of the peak-performance state known as Flow.

Wheal, who co-authored "Stealing Fire," continues to advise on and develop the science and training behind flow and peak performance. He resides on the Colorado River with his wife Julie, their two children Lucas and Emma, and their Golden Retriever, Cassie.
