Janice Marturano

Janice Marturano is the Founder and Executive Director of the Institute for Mindful Leadership, a non-profit organization dedicated to training and supporting leaders in the exploration of mindfulness and leadership excellence. She established the Institute for Mindful Leadership in January 2011, concluding her 15-year tenure as Vice President, Public Responsibility and Deputy General Counsel for General Mills, Inc.

During her time at General Mills, Marturano co-developed the first mindful leadership curricula at the University of Massachusetts Medical School’s Center for Mindfulness, where she also served as a member of the Advisory Board. With her extensive experience as a corporate officer and a certified teacher of mindfulness, she has successfully introduced rigorous mindful leadership training to leaders across various sectors including corporate, non-profit, academic, government, and military. Her notable contributions to the field were recognized at international forums, such as her presentations on mindful leadership at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland in 2013, and in Tianjin, China in 2014.

Marturano's insights and methodologies have gained significant media attention, with features on the BBC, Huff Post Live, and in prominent publications like the NY Times, Financial Times, Saturday Evening Post, Time magazine, and LA Times. Her influential book "Finding the Space to Lead" is now a staple in the curriculum of top business schools including Columbia, NYU, and USC, and has been translated into multiple languages such as French, Norwegian, Spanish, Polish, German, Chinese, and Korean.
