Jason Newport

Jason Newport is a digital, mobile and youth marketing expert. Most recently, Newport held the role of SVP, Mobile Strategy & Innovation for Dentsu-Aegis Network (DAN) — focused primarily on Carat, the holding company’s flagship media services agency.

Business Insider recognized Newport for his standout work in 2013, naming him to their list of “Most Creative People in Mobile Advertising.” During his five-year tenure, Newport played a central role in pitching and retaining DAN’s largest clients, including Macy's, GM, The Home Depot, Red Bull, GoPro, Burberry, P&G, Disney, Staples, Discover, Adidas, Microsoft, Diageo, Reckitt Benckiser, Sonos, MasterCard, and Pfizer among many others.

In 2014, Newport created the Dentsu-Aegis Brand Accelerator — a co-operative platform powered in partnership with a pre-qualified pool of more than 1,000 ad-tech start-ups and the VCs who fund them. Charter members include media and technology’s most successful investors, including Managing Partners at SoftBank Capital, Lerer-Hippeau, IA, Genacast and Bloomberg Beta. Brand Accelerator engagements have produced media products featured in hundreds of campaigns across Carat’s global client roster, each consistently outperforming brand and industry benchmarks and KPI targets — winning dozens of industry awards for clients and driving an increase of more than 15% in organic revenue across the holding company due primarily to its unique, value-driven compensation models.

Newport holds Chair and Co-Chair positions on committees with several industry governance associations, including the Digital Place-Based Advertising Association (DPAA) and Mobile Marketing Association (MMA). In addition, he sits on Advisory Boards of Kiip, xAd, Adcade, Aki Technologies and Opera Mediaworks.

Before joining Aegis Media in 2010, Newport was a Founder & Chief Marketing Officer of Omnicom Group’s global mobile marketing consultancy, MobileBehavior – an agency he led for two years prior to its acquisition by sister agency Tribal DDB. Previously, Newport led the social and youth marketing practice at Omnicom Group’s Fleishman-Hillard, where he became the youngest Partner in the company’s history.
