Jason Segel

Jason Segel is an American television and film actor, widely recognized for his role as Marshall Eriksen in the popular series "How I Met Your Mother."

Segel first gained attention in 1999 with his portrayal of Nick Andopolis in Judd Apatow's acclaimed series "Freaks and Geeks." His cinematic breakthrough occurred in 2008 with "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," a film he not only starred in but also wrote. He continued his work in writing with projects like "The Muppets," which further showcased his creative versatility.

His filmography includes successful titles such as "I Love You, Man," "Get Him to the Greek," "Knocked Up," "The Five-Year Engagement," "Bad Teacher," and "Sex Tape." Segel's performance in the 2015 film "The End of the Tour," where he portrayed author David Foster Wallace, was highly praised and earned him a nomination for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead. In 2012, he was honored as the Hasty Pudding Man of the Year for his contributions to entertainment.

In addition to his acting career, Segel has ventured into writing, revealing in 2013 his work on a series of young adult novels. The first novel from this series, "Nightmares!," co-written with Kirsten Miller, was released in 2014, followed by a sequel in 2015. The duo then published their first novel in a new series titled "Otherworld" in 2017.

Segel is also an ordained minister with the Universal Life Church and has performed a wedding ceremony on "The Tonight Show" on July 6, 2010, for a couple who creatively gained his attention.
