Jay Paterno

Jay Paterno is a multifaceted professional, currently heading Blue Line 409 LLC, a venture firm involved in business, television, radio, public speaking, and consultancy on philanthropy, social media, and public relations. His work in the television and brewing industry includes the Paterno Legacy Series with Duquesne Brewing. Additionally, since 2020, Paterno has been a key consultant in the evolving area of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) for college athletes, co-founding Penn State's NIL Collective, "Success With Honor," which coordinates efforts for all 31 of Penn State’s sports teams.

In the media world, Paterno co-created, co-wrote, and starred in "Nittany Game Week", a weekly syndicated TV show reaching over 20 million homes across eight states. In 2022, he executive produced the special "THON: 50 Years For The Kids", which ranked #1 in prime-time viewership in Philadelphia and New York. His expertise extends to radio, where he created and hosts "Pigskin Stew Radio" on ESPN Radio in Pittsburgh. As a best-selling author, Paterno penned "Paterno Legacy" and followed it with two novels centered on college football, Hot Seat and its sequel "BLITZED".

Paterno’s influence stretches far beyond media and sports. He has lectured at prominent universities, including Penn State, USC, and Bucknell, and delivered speeches on leadership, team building, and crisis management for corporate, charitable, and government audiences. His renowned speech at his father Joe Paterno’s 2012 memorial service was hailed as one of the most important American speeches of the 21st century.

A 22-year veteran of coaching, with 17 years at Penn State, Paterno was recognized as one of the Big 10’s best quarterback coaches and offensive coordinators. Under his leadership, the Penn State offense achieved national prominence, and his work as recruiting coordinator earned the program several top national rankings. In 2017, Paterno was elected to Penn State’s Board of Trustees, continuing his leadership in education, athletics, and community service.
