Jay Winner

Jay Winner, M.D. has been a family practice physician since 1990 and is the founder and director of the Stress Management Program for Sansum Clinic, one of California’s largest medical clinics. Since starting this program, Dr. Winner has also served as the program director and instructor since 1992.

Dr. Winner speaks on the topic of stress management to various audiences including corporations, physician groups, counselors, firefighters, and government employees. He has gained recognition as a top speaker in stress management, known for engaging and informative lectures and workshops, which have consistently received high praise from attendees. His expertise in this field is also reflected through frequent features in media outlets including television, radio, WebMD, and national magazines such as Redbook, Men’s Health, Town & Country, and Good Housekeeping.

He has authored several books on managing stress, such as "Relaxation on the Run," "Take the Stress Out of Your Life," and "Stress Management Made Simple: Effective Ways to Beat Stress for Better Health." Additionally, Dr. Winner has held significant medical leadership roles including Chairman of Patient Education for Sansum Clinic, Medical Director of Health South, Santa Barbara, and Medical Director of Day-to-Day Health. He continues to contribute to the medical community as Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine for the Keck School of Medicine of USC, focusing on physician well-being.

Dr. Winner resides in Santa Barbara, California with his wife and twin sons. His extensive experience and commitment to improving stress management through education and practical solutions have helped thousands improve their health and quality of life.
