Jenna von Oy

Jenna von Oy began her professional acting career at the age of six, when she landed her first big break in a Jell-O Pudding Pop commercial with Bill Cosby. Since then, her thirty-one year career has been in high gear!

Von Oy has made her mark in television, having been a series regular on three network sit-coms. The first, “Lenny,” aired on CBS for one season. She followed it immediately with NBC’s “Blossom,” where she portrayed the title character’s fast-talking best friend, “Six Le Meure”. This was the first of two long-running hit shows that von Oy has starred in, both having exceeded 100 episodes, and having entered into syndication. The second, UPN’s “The Parkers,” finished filming in 2004 after it’s five year run, and was the number one television show in African-American households. Here, von Oy played the quirky and sarcastic “Stevie Van Lowe”.

Von Oy makes a cameo appearance in an episode of “Til’ Death,” was a guest lead on “Cold Case,” and costarred in an ABC pilot as Oscar-nominee Brenda Blethyn’s daughter. She has also guest starred on such shows as “Chicago Hope,” “7th Heaven,” “Martin,” and “Unhappily Ever After.” She has co-starred in several movies of the week including “Dying To Belong,” opposite Hillary Swank, and “She Cried No” for NBC. She recently participated in an episode of “Celebrity Wife Swap,” marking her first reality television show appearance.

Von Oy has also been successful outside of the world of television. Her feature film debut was for director Oliver Stone, in the film “Born On The Fourth of July.” She also worked opposite Regina King and Blair Underwood in the independent film “Truth Be Told.” In 2011, von Oy appeared in a short film called “The 30 Day Challenge,” which made its mark at several film festivals, winning awards at both the Nashville Film Festival and the L.A. Comedy Festival.

Voice-over work is another source of passion for von Oy, who can be heard in the Disney animated series “Pepper Ann,” as the title character’s nemesis, “Trinket Malloy.” She has lent her voice to Disney features such as “The Goofy Movie,” and such animated shows as “Family Guy” and “Hercules.” She can also be heard in the sequel film, “Dr. Dolittle 3.”

Von Oy is an accomplished singer, and spends much of her time in Nashville, writing and recording music. She released her cathartic debut album, “Breathing Room,” in September of 2007. She then released a quirkier second album in 2009, titled “Coffee & Men: An EP For Childish Adults,” which was penned for TV and film placement. Her other passions include photography, which has appeared in several major publications. Most recently, her writing skills have been making headlines, when she began a very candid monthly blog about pregnancy and motherhood for People Magazine’s website. This gave way to the start of her own blog, The Cradle Chronicles, where von Oy dispenses her own motherhood anecdotes and adventures. She is currently working on two books, including a fictional book for young adults.

Von Oy’s personal life has been equally busy. She married husband Brad Bratcher in 2010, and gave birth to their first daughter, Gray Audrey, in 2012. They are expecting another daughter in November of 2014.
