Jennifer McCrea

Jennifer McCrea is a Senior Research Fellow at the Hauser Institute for Civil Society at Harvard University and serves as the Faculty Chair for the Exponential Fundraising Course at Harvard. She is recognized for her innovative approach to philanthropy and is a frequent speaker and writer on the topics of "Social Change and Community Organizing," "Generative Philanthropy," and the deeper meanings of money. McCrea is the co-author of the best-selling book "The Generosity Network" and co-founder of Born Free Africa.

For over 25 years, McCrea has collaborated with philanthropists, board members, and nonprofit leaders to address global needs, thinking more creatively and collaboratively about ways to align strategic direction and resources. She has worked with a wide range of organizations including Acumen, DonorsChoose.org, Grameen America, Teach for America, Southern Poverty Law Center, ACLU, and many others. Her efforts have established her as a key figure in transformative philanthropy, often referred to as "The Billionaire Whisperer" by Bloomberg Magazine.

McCrea is the Chairman of the Advisory Board at the MIT Media Lab and serves on the boards of Just Capital, Pioneer Works, and Target Zero. She is also a member of the advisory board of the Blue School. A Henry Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute, McCrea has led seminars and workshops for Ashoka, Skoll World Forum, TED, and other prestigious forums, showcasing her expertise in public speaking and her deep understanding of complex social challenges and philanthropy.
