An accomplished singer/songwriter, he is also the youngest and one of the most successful tour managers in the country.
Born in Idaho and raised in the inland Northwest, Jerome was introduced to the music scene at the age of five by his father, who played with the likes of Faron Young and Waylon Jennings. By age 10, Jerome had learned to play guitar, and at 14, he was asked to join one of the most popular bands in the Northwest, the Kelly Hughes Band.
After five years of touring with Kelly Hughes, Jerome formed his own band, Trace County. The band quickly became a local favorite, opening for Willie Nelson, Pat Green, Marty Stuart, Montgomery Gentry, Larry the Cable Guy and many others. In June 2002, Trace County released their first album, Something Left Behind.
In January 2004, Trace County was invited to spend 30 days on a USO tour performing for the troops in Korea, Japan, Guam and the Marshall Islands. That fall, the band was invited back to headline the September 11th Freedom Festival in Hiroshima, Japan.
After four years of touring with Trace County, Jerome left the Northwest to begin his solo career. He went to work on the road with Larry the Cable Guy, whose tour quickly soared to become the sixth highest grossing in the world. In early 2005, Jerome signed a record deal with Warner Bros. Records and began working on his solo album.
While on the road with Larry, Jerome penned the theme song for and appeared in the Paramount Home Entertainment release, Blue Collar Comedy Tour Rides Again. After the phenomenal success of the DVD, he wrote a second song for Larry the Cable Guy’s comedy album, The Right to Bare Arms, which went on to become the highest selling comedy debut in history. Currently, he is working on two additional soundtracks for movies due out in fall 2006.
Jerome spent the summer of 2005 in Nashville writing with some of the most highly acclaimed writers in country music. In July, he went into the studio to record with several original members of The Marshall Tucker Band. His solo album is produced by The Marshall Tucker Band’s Grammy Award-winning drummer, Paul Riddle, and is scheduled to be released in spring 2006.
