Jessica Herrera-Flanigan

Jessica Herrera-Flanigan is an accomplished executive and speaker with almost thirty years’ experience working on public policy, crisis management, legal, and social impact matters in the technology, media, security, sports, and government contracting sectors. She currently serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Center for Safe Sport, and as a Board Member of Regis University and the Peabody Awards. She also is on the Advisory Board of the University of California National Center for Free Speech and Civic Engagement.

She has served as the Vice President of Public Policy & Philanthropy, Americas at Twitter, and as the Executive Vice President of Government & Corporate Affairs at Univision and President of the Univision Foundation. Prior to Univision, she was a partner with the government affairs and strategic consulting firm Monument Advocacy.

Herrera-Flanigan spent part of her career as the Staff Director & General Counsel of the House Committee on Homeland Security. In that position, she was the first Latina staffer to head up a Congressional committee. She also spent several years at the U.S. Department of Justice in the Computer Crime & IP Section, where she co-led a team of prosecutors specializing in the investigation and prosecution of cybercrimes and also represented the United States at APEC, OAS, and OECD. She has taught cybercrime and criminal law at both the Washington College of Law, American University and the American Military University, and has been a fellow at several think-tanks and policy organizations. She started her career at a D.C. law firm, practicing communications, litigation, and energy law.

She is a published author and spokesperson who has appeared in numerous publications and on-air. Herrera-Flanigan has received numerous awards and recognitions, including a Doctorate of Humane Letters, Honoris Causa from Regis University, 100 Most Influential Latinas, Washingtonian Tech Titan, Multichannel News Wonder Woman Award, HHF NFL Award, Cablefax's Most Influential Minorities and Most Powerful Women, Women in Cybersecurity Award, and 100 Most Influential Hispanics in the U.S.

Jessica holds a BA, American Studies from Yale University and a JD from Harvard Law School.
