Jessica Kartalija

Emmy award-winning journalist and communications professional Jessica Kartalija has more than 23 years of experience on air in television news with CBS. She teaches Public Speaking and Social Media Journalism at Villanova University and was named 2024’s Pennsylvania Broadcaster of the Year. She is on the Dean’s Advisory Board for the Bellisario School of Communications at Pennsylvania State University and earned her Masters in Communications from Johns Hopkins University.

The Emmy award-winning anchor joined the CBS Philadelphia team in the fall of 2018. She came to Philly from CBS Baltimore, where she anchored the 5 p.m. news. Prior to Baltimore, she worked in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Yuma, Arizona. Viewers can see her in the HBO series "Servant" and "House of Cards" on Netflix.

Kartalija is on the Dean's Advancement Council for the Bellisario College of Communications at Penn State. She is also on the advisory board of Horizons Greater Philadelphia, a camp for children with cancer. She has also worked with the Special Olympics, The House of Ruth Maryland, The Women's Initiative Network (WIN) at Kennedy Krieger Institute, and was on the Board of Trustees at the Irvine Nature Center.

She lives with her husband and son just outside of Philadelphia. They have two rescue dogs from the PSPCA. On weekends, you can find her on the sidelines at lacrosse games, reading, and traveling whenever she can!
