A 20-year veteran of television comedy, Jill Condon started her career as an intern on the original “Cosby Show” while attending New York University. Her writing and producing credits include “Ned & Stacey,” “Friends,” “Grounded for Life” and “Raising Hope.” Her “Friends” episode “The One with The Embryos” is ranked No. 21 in TV Guide’s top 100 TV episodes of all time.
One morning Condon was in the shower, thinking about Phoebe's pregnancy story line, when she had a thought: Phoebe should speak to the embryos. She should hold the petri dish with the embryos and ask them to hold on for her brother and sister-in-law’s sake. While there was never any guarantee that a concept would make it on to a show, once Condon thought of the idea, she was confident it would make it on to television. “The One with the Embryos” serves as a template for all that Friends did best, and exemplifies the fantastic writing from Condon.
