Jim Ackerman Biography
His dad played trumpet professionally during the "big band era" and was once offered a job to play in Guy Lobardo's Band. Jim's mother, a professional musician as well, played piano and sang with Danny Thomas. Jim's dad taught him to read music at a young age. In the mid 70's, Jim studied Andres Segovia style classical guitar in college under Jack Moncrief and Lee Diemont. Has played with many bands throughout his musical career. Has played as a solo guitarist at Greenfield Village and has been featured with Opera Lite. He is also a member of the band, JD Groove. Jim has done studio work as well.
