Jim Lesser

Jim Lesser is the Chief Brand Officer at ServiceNow, an enterprise software company. In this role, he leads a global brand team driving strategy, creative, media, sponsorships, content, thought leadership and social media across every touchpoint for ServiceNow’s customers, partners and community.

Lesser joined ServiceNow from global advertising agency, BBDO San Francisco, where he was President and CEO. A former Creative Director at the agency, he believes in the power of creativity and storytelling and that a great idea can come from anywhere -- even the receptionist, which was the position in which he began his career.

Lesser was the first Creative Director in Residence at the University of Texas's School of Advertising and Communication. He has been a guest lecturer at the University of Southern California (USC) Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism, University of Colorado - Boulder's College of Media and Communication, and the Brigham Young University AdLab. He also served on Dean Willow Bay's Curriculum Committee at USC.

Additionally, Lesser served as Chairman of the Board for 826 Valencia for five years. The non-profit, founded by the writer Dave Eggers, operates three writing centers in San Francisco where underserved students are tutored in order to help them discover and develop the power of their voices. Lesser also previously served on the Advisory Board of Dwell Magazine and the Board of Directors of BBDO New York.
