Jim MacPhee

Jim MacPhee is a top advisor who enables operational excellence and transformational leadership through engaged, purpose-driven teams. He has an impressive resume as an operations executive across multiple disciplines and properties for the Walt Disney Company. MacPhee authored the book "Engage, Inspire, Lead: Riding the Waves of Life Leadership Lessons from My 43-Year Carrer with the Walt Disney Company," detailing lessons he learned throughout his tenure.

Starting his career at Disney in 1978, MacPhee worked his way up the ladder, starting as a boat driver and retiring as the chief operating officer and senior vice president of Walt Disney World in 2021. During his time at Disney, he served as the Vice President of Epcot at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, and Senior Vice President of the Next Generation Experience. Notably, MacPhee is the co-inventor of the Disney MyMagic+ Experience, which is made up of a suite of technologies that enable a number of services and enhancements to guests of the resort. Some examples of these technologies include payments, hotel room access, ticketing, and FastPast being consolidated into RFID-enabled wristbands known as MagicBands.
