Jim Nantz

Jim Nantz is a celebrated sports broadcaster, best known for his work with CBS. Since 1989, Nantz has anchored CBS's coverage of the Masters Tournament, and since 2004, he has been the play-by-play announcer for CBS's top NFL games. Nantz's distinctive voice and deep knowledge of sports have made him a household name, especially during some of the most prestigious events in sports broadcasting.

In addition to his role covering golf, Nantz assumed the lead play-by-play role for CBS's College Basketball coverage in 1990 and has hosted coverage of several Olympic Winter Games for the network, including the 1992, 1994, and 1998 editions. His ability to connect with audiences through different sports has earned him a reputation as one of the most versatile and respected figures in broadcasting.

Beyond his professional achievements, Nantz is a strong advocate for Alzheimer's research. His father battled Alzheimer’s before passing away in 2008, an experience that profoundly impacted Nantz and inspired him to write his book, "Always by My Side," which recounts his career alongside his father's battle with the disease. In 2011, he founded the Nantz National Alzheimer Center at Methodist Hospital in Houston, focusing on Alzheimer's research, particularly the vascular and concussion-related factors that contribute to dementia.

A graduate of the University of Houston, where he played on the golf team and honed his broadcasting skills, Nantz has maintained close ties with his alma mater, receiving an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters in 2001. His career continues to be marked by excellence in sports broadcasting, while his advocacy for Alzheimer's awareness remains a deeply personal mission.
