Jimmy Soni

Jimmy Soni was managing editor at The Huffington Post from January 2012 to 2014, where he was instrumental in setting up its operations in India. Previously, he had worked as a strategy consultant at McKinsey and Company, as well as a speechwriter at the office of the Mayor of the District of Columbia.

Soni has co-authored several pieces with fellow Duke graduate Rob Goodman; their work has been featured in Politico, The Huffington Post, Business Insider, AdWeek, and The Atlantic, among others. He has also been featured in major publications like The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, and The New Yorker for his work. In 2012, Soni published his first book, a biography of Cato the Younger, titled "Rome’s Last Citizen: The Life and Legacy of Cato, Mortal Enemy of Caesar." His biography of mathematician Claude Shannon, titled "A Mind at Play," was released in 2015. His most recent work, "The Founders," explores the founders of PayPal.
