Jing Corpuz Biography
Jennifer "Jing" Corpuz, from the Kankana-ey Igorot People of Mountain Province in the Philippines, is a lawyer and managing director for policy at Nia Tero. She is the former coordinator of the Indigenous Peoples' Rights and Policy Advocacy Program of Tebtebba, the Indigenous peoples’ international center for policy research and education. She graduated from the UP College of Law and obtained her master of laws from the Indigenous Peoples’ Law and Policy (IPLP) Program of The University of Arizona at Tucson. She was the 2012 Indigenous Intellectual Property Fellow at the World Intellectual Property Organization, and since then has been an active participant in the WIPO IGC negotiations on the protection of traditional knowledge. She is a negotiator and expert for the International Indigenous Forum on Biodiversity on a range of issues, including biological diversity and conservation.
