Joan Collins

Dame Joan Collins is an English actress from Paddington, London. Born the daughter of a talent agent and a dance teacher, Collins trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She is most iconic for playing her Golden Globe Award winning role of ‘Alexis Carrington Colby’ in DYNASTY. She was also nominated for an Emmy as Best Actress for the number-one series.

Collins’ first American credits include THE VIRGIN QUEEN where she shared top-billing with Bette Davis and THE GIRL IN THE RED VELVET SWING - the role was originally intended for Marilyn Monroe, Collins replaced Monroe based on a studio decision. By the 1960’s, Collin’s was 20th Century Fox’s biggest star. In the drama film WAYWARD BUS, Collins received top-billing over Jayne Mansfield.

In 1997, Collins was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire for service to drama. In 2015, Collins was promoted to the rank of Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire for services to charity.

Most recently, Collins appeared as herself in ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS: THE MOVIE and has been seen in 2 different roles in Ryan Murphy’s horror anthology series AMERICAN HORROR STORY. She played wealthy Grandmother ‘Evie Gallant’, and Witch ‘Bubbles McGee’ in which she appeared in four episodes. In 2018, she was awarded Best Actress at the LA Shorts Festival for her critically acclaimed transformation in GERRY.

Currently, Joan is promoting her Sunday Times Best Seller, My Unapologetic Diaries and her must see tell-all BBC Documentary, This Is Joan Collins. She also just made a buzz worthy appearance in Calvin Klein’s CK1 x Palace fashion film collab alongside Willem DaFoe & Lola Leon set to the Pet Shop Boys. Next, she will film a starring role in the remake of THE STORK CLUB, a feature film highlighting the behind the scenes of London’s most happening night club, set in 1975.
