After dealing with menopause-related 3 a.m. wake-ups, mood swings and no clear remedy, Joanna Strober founded the virtual-care platform Midi Health, specifically for women 40+ experiencing perimenopause and menopause. As CEO, Strober leads the direct-to-consumer healthcare clinic.
Midi employs 60 physicians and nurse practitioners -- menopause specialists who work with each patient to create a personalized treatment plan, offering a range of interventions, from lifestyle coaching to prescription medications, all of which are covered by insurance. The company partners with major healthcare facilities such as NYU Langone and Lifepoint, and with businesses such as software company Cadence to offer its services as an employee benefit.
Forbes named Strober to its "50 Over 50" list of innovators in 2023.
Previously, Strober founded Kurbo Health, a mobile and online platform addressing childhood obesity for kids, teens and their families. It was acquired by WW in 2018.
Prior to following her passion for digital health, Strober spent fifteen years making investments in venture capital and private equity. She is also the co-author of "Getting to 50/50," a bestselling book written to help parents thrive in the workforce after having children.
