Molinaro is a Korean American woman, born in Chicago, Illinois. Both of her parents were born in what is now known as North Korea. She began her blog, The Korean Vegan, in 2016 after adopting a plant-based diet. In July 2020, she started her TikTok 'The Korean Vegan', mostly as a coping mechanism during the global pandemic. She originally posted content about politics and her life as a lawyer in quarantine. However, a viral post featuring Korean braised potatoes shifted her focus to creating 60-second recipe videos accompanied by family stories—highlighting her immigrant background.
Molinaro continues to inspire with her unique blend of culinary expertise and personal storytelling, using her platform to advocate for immigrant issues and mental health awareness. Her work aims to connect food, culture, and personal identity, enriching her audience's understanding of the immigrant experience in the United States.
