Jodi Haney

Jodi Haney is a Curriculum Specialist, Dynamic and Passionate Educator, and Author with over 30 years of experience in education. She is a Professor Emeritus in Science and Environmental Education at Bowling Green State University. Haney has a comprehensive background that encompasses various aspects of educational development and engagement. Her work aims to bring about educational change by addressing needs specific to science and environmental disciplines, while maintaining a broad approach that makes her presentations highly interdisciplinary.

Haney has made over 90 presentations at international and national conferences, and over 250 presentations to school and community groups. She has authored and received over $20 million in grant monies for school improvement projects that bring together university, school, parent, business, and community partners. Her expertise in education has been recognized multiple times; she was named Bowling Green State University's Outstanding Young Scholar in 1999 and was a finalist for the BGSU Student Alumni Connection Master Teacher Award in 2014.

In addition to her extensive experience in academia and public speaking, Haney is also an accomplished author, with over 40 articles published in prestigious journals. She has developed national curricula on problem-based learning for middle grades students and is the author of "Motivation Matters: Seven Ways to Ignite, Excite, and Engage 21st Century Learners." Currently, she offers professional development through her educational consulting firm, Xcite Learning, for PreK-16+ teachers, informal educators, and community partners. Her featured keynote programs include "Motivating Today's Students," focused on balancing test preparation with engaging and interesting curriculum, and "Climate HOPE," which discusses climate change education and sustainability.
