Joel Anderson

Joel Anderson is widely recognized for his comprehensive work in the journalism industry. After his graduation from Schieffer College, Anderson embarked on a career path that led him to work for various esteemed publications such as the Associated Press, the Tampa Bay Times, Buzzfeed and ESPN. His reporting has spanned a diverse range of subjects, including history, sports, and government. Currently, Anderson holds a position as a staff writer for Slate Magazine and is the host for the eighth season of the podcast "Slow Burn".

In addition to his professional responsibilities, Anderson has maintained a strong connection with his alma mater, Schieffer College. He serves on the college's Board of Visitors and has also been a participant in the event, “TCU Presents: Elections, Journalism & the Media Landscape.” His thoughts on journalism have been featured in TCU Magazine in an article titled, “Breaking the News.”

For his work on this season, Anderson was awarded the Ambie Award for Podcast of the Year. His involvement with "Slow Burn" extends beyond the eighth season, as he also hosted the podcast's third and sixth seasons.
