Johan Brand

Johan Brand is a renowned innovator, entrepreneur, and educator, best known as the co-founder of Kahoot!, a game-based learning platform that has transformed classrooms worldwide. Brand's journey into the tech and education sectors began with a passion for design and creativity. He studied at the prestigious Westerdals School of Communication in Norway and later at the renowned Hyper Island in Sweden, where he honed his skills in digital media and interaction design. He is recognized as one of the top 100 most influential leaders in EdTech globally and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

In 2012, together with his Kahoot! co-founders, Brand envisioned a platform that would make learning fun and engaging through gamification. Kahoot! quickly gained popularity for its interactive quizzes and games, which could be easily integrated into classroom activities. The platform's success is a testament to Brand's innovative vision and dedication to improving educational experiences. Today, Brand is a Founding Partner at We Are Human, committed to creating and investing in purpose-driven organizations that aim for sustainable social and commercial impact. He has made over 60 direct investments and participated as a limited partner in 12 global funds, fostering innovation across various sectors. His focus is on democratizing public transport and enabling the green regeneration of European cities, facilitated by an autonomous public transport system.

Brand also serves as the Founder and Chair of EntrepreneurShipOne, a venture that capitalizes on the entrepreneurial opportunities of our oceans.
