John A. Krol

Mr. Krol joined DuPont in 1963 as a chemist in Wilmington, DE. Between 1965 and 1986, he held various marketing, manufacturing, and business management positions in DuPont Fibers until being named vice president in 1983. In 1986, he joined DuPont Agricultural Products and served as senior vice president until being named senior vice president of DuPont Fibers in 1990.

In 1992, Mr. Krol was elected vice chairman. He became president and chief executive officer in 1995. He became chairman and CEO in 1997. He received his bachelor and master's degrees in chemistry from Tufts University. Mr. Krol is a member of the boards of directors of the Mead/Westvaco, Milliken Company, ACE Limited Insurance, and Tyco International; a member of the advisory boards for Bechtel Corporation and a former member of the board of trustees of Tufts University, Hagley Museum and Wilmington Country Club, and former president of the National Consortium for Graduate Degrees for Minorities in Engineering and Science, Inc. Mr. Krol is a former director of JP Morgan and Armstrong World Industries, Inc., and is a former member of the Business and Economics Visiting Committee of the University of Delaware. Mr. Krol presently serves as the chair of the Finance and Compensation Committees, and as a member of the Executive Committee and the Investment Visiting Committee.
