John Donovan

John Donovan has had more than 30 years in technology, operating under the belief that true power lies in purpose-driven innovation.

Donovan served AT&T for more than a decade with the mission: Harness the power of the AT&T network, its people and its communities to enrich lives through meaningful connection. He drove AT&T’s global leadership in 5G and the overall industry in the transition to software-defined networking. He also expanded AT&T’s innovation program to position the company as an industry leader in working with application developers and others to make AT&T’s network open to collaboration and innovation.

Donovan previously was executive vice president of product, sales, marketing and operations at VeriSign Inc., an internet infrastructure company. He also was chairman and CEO of inCode Telecom Group Inc., where he helped shape strategy for wireless carriers worldwide. He also was a partner with Deloitte Consulting, where he was the Americas telecom practice director.

He is chair of the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee (NSTAC), a board member of Palo Alto Networks and author of "Value-Creating Growth: How to Lift Your Company to the Next Level of Performance", "The Value Enterprise: Strategies for Building a Value-Based Organization" and "Building the Network of the Future: Getting Smarter, Faster, and More Flexible with a Software Centric Approach".
