John Henry

John Henry is a Dominican-American entrepreneur and investor who has received recognition in major business and creative publications. Among these accolades, Henry has been named to Forbes 30 Under 30 and the Ebony Power 100 lists.

Born and raised in New York City, Henry charted an unconventional path to success. He made the decision to leave college at 18 and subsequently worked as a doorman. By the age of 21, he had started and sold his first business, an on-demand dry cleaning service for the Film and TV industry in New York City, which was successfully led through an acquisition in 2014. After this initial success, Henry co-founded the Venture Capital firm Harlem Capital. This early-stage, diversity-focused firm has since made a significant impact by investing in women and minority entrepreneurs. Henry stepped down from his role at Harlem Capital in 2020.

Currently, Henry utilizes his expertise in the technology sector as the co-founder and co-CEO of Loop, an insurance technology company. This company, a certified B-Corp, leverages AI and data to create more fairly priced auto insurance products for everyone. In addition to his entrepreneurial endeavors, Henry has developed a strong interest in media. He produced and hosted the TV show "Hustle" on VICELAND, which focuses on helping entrepreneurs grow their businesses. Additionally, Henry has combined his business acumen with his interest in media by producing and hosting branded podcasts. His clients have included notable brands such as The Washington Post, Gimlet Media, WeWork, eBay, and Samsung. Henry is also a motivational speaker, known for sharing his journey from doorman to CEO and insights on the power of diversity in venture capital, the secrets to startup success, and building personal brands.
