John McPherson

John McPherson is the cartoonist and creator behind the renowned comic panel "Close to Home." The comic debuted in 1992 and today is featured in over 700 newspapers worldwide, including prominent publications such as the New York Daily News, The Miami Herald, The Washington Post, The Japan Times, and The Vietnam News.

John has successfully expanded his brand beyond the comic strips by publishing over 20 book collections of his cartoons and creating a best-selling yearly block calendar, now in its 26th year. Additionally, his influence extends to a line of greeting cards through Recycled Paper Products and his own "Close to Home" clothing line. His work also includes diverse merchandise like T-shirts, mugs, screensavers, and stationery.

As a skilled speaker, McPherson has engaged nearly 200 groups, sharing insights on humor, creativity, and his experiences as a cartoonist. His presentations are known for their humor, informativeness, and high levels of audience interaction. Among his speaking engagements are notable institutions and events such as Yale University, The FBI, Case Western University Medical Law School, and the International Conference on Humor and Creativity. In 2004, he was honored with a lifetime achievement award from Bucknell University.
