John Ondrasik

John Ondrasik, an American singer-songwriter and pianist, performs under the stage name Five for Fighting. Ondrasik is distinguished for his piano-based soft rock tracks, including notable hits like "Superman (It's Not Easy)," "100 Years", and "The Riddle". Ondrasik's repertoire includes six studio albums, one EP, and a series of live albums. Ondrasik's track "Superman" earned a Grammy nomination in 2002. In addition, Ondrasik's music has been incorporated into 350 films, TV shows, and advertisements. With the release of his two Platinum-selling albums, "America Town" and "The Battle for Everything," Ondrasik has received one Grammy and one AMA nomination.

Ondrasik's impact extends beyond the music industry. Many of his songs have illuminated the soundtracks of TV shows like "Hawaii Five-0", "JAG", and "American Ninja Warrior", as well as "Code Black" where he covered Gary Go's track "Open Arms". For the film "Gosnell: The Trial of America's Biggest Serial Killer", he recorded a poignant track titled "Song For The Innocents". His music has also graced the Billboard charts, with songs including "World" (2006) and "Chances" (2009).

Notably, Ondrasik has utilized his music to comment on pressing geopolitical events. He penned "Blood on My Hands" in critique of the American withdrawal from Afghanistan, and "Can One Man Save the World?" reflecting on the war in Ukraine. His most recent release, "'Ok' (We Are Not OK)" addresses the rising of antisemitism worldwide. Ondrasik's philanthropic efforts include supporting military and veterans, spreading awareness about slavery and human trafficking, and raising funds for various charities.

Since 2012, Ondrasik has been an active public speaker, delivering presentations at TEDx, The Salk Institute, American Cancer Society, and Virgin Unite. His talks focus on themes of creativity, entrepreneurship, and collaboration.

Ondrasik holds a degree in applied science and mathematics from the University of California, Los Angeles.
