Jon Frankel has been a correspondent for HBO’s “Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel” since 2006. He brings extensive experience in both hard news and sports television to his role. Frankel previously served as the national correspondent on CBS’s “The Early Show,” a sports correspondent for ABC News’ “World News Tonight,” and the adventure reporter on NBC’s “The Today Show.”
Frankel began his broadcasting career focusing on local sports. Beyond his on-camera work, he has produced and directed three documentaries that aired on ESPN. His investigative prowess was notably displayed in his work as a correspondent on the 2016 “Real Sports” exposé of the International Olympic Committee, which was awarded a DuPont-Columbia University broadcast journalism award and the Sports Emmy Award for Outstanding Sports Journalism.
