A senior editor for the New Republic, Jonathan Cohn has been called "one of the best healthcare writers out there" by the New York Times, and was anointed "one of America's leading experts on healthcare policy" by the Washington Post.
In 2007, he released the groundbreaking book, Sick: The Untold Story of America's Healthcare Crisis--and the People Who Pay the Price. The winner of the Harry Chapin Media Award, and a finalist for the Robert F. Kennedy Book Award and the New York Public Library's Helen Bernstein Award, it was a prescient indictment of America's failing healthcare system, and helped bring greater attention to the need for reform.
In addition to his healthcare writing, Cohn focuses on issues relating to social welfare, and was awarded a "special mention" by the Sidney Hillman Foundation for his 2008 coverage of labor unions and the auto industry crisis.
Currently a senior fellow at Davos and a member of the National Academy of Social Insurance, he can be seen frequently on CNN, MSNBC, and the Colbert Report, and writes for the American Prospect as a contributing editor, the New York Times, Washington Post, and Rolling Stone.
