Jonathan Nolan, a British and American screenwriter and producer, has made a significant mark in the science fiction genre. Known as the creator of the CBS series "Person of Interest" from 2011 to 2016, Nolan went on to co-create the HBO science fiction/Western series "Westworld" which ran from 2016 to 2022. His collaborations extend to multiple films with his brother, Christopher Nolan, including "Memento" (2000), "The Prestige" (2006), "The Dark Knight" (2008), "The Dark Knight Rises" (2012), and "Interstellar" (2014), demonstrating his versatility across various narrative formats.
Nolan's talent in storytelling has been recognized by prestigious bodies in the film industry. His screenplay for "Memento" earned him a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. His work on "Westworld" further solidified his reputation, earning him nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series and Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series. He also served as an executive producer and directed episodes for the television series adaptation of "Fallout" in 2024.
Nolan is married to Lisa Joy, the writer and co-creator of "Westworld", and together they have a daughter and a son.
