Julian Treasure

Julian Treasure is a communication expert and the CEO of The Sound Agency, a consultancy that specializes in helping brands effectively use sound and music in marketing and various spaces. He is the author of the books "Sound Business" and "How to be Heard," the latter of which won both the SOVAS and Audie awards for best business audiobook of 2018.

Treasure has delivered five TED talks, including one that is the sixth most-viewed TED talk of all time, with over 100 million views. His work has been featured by major publications and media such as TIME Magazine, The Economist, Vogue, GQ, The BBC, NPR, and CBS. He regularly shares insights on powerful speaking and listening skills, and explores the impact of sound on productivity, happiness, and well-being in various environments like offices, hospitals, and schools.

In addition to his role at The Sound Agency, Treasure is also the Chairman of the company, guiding its strategic direction and expansion. His consultancy's work has led to outcomes like increased sales, happier customers, and lower crime rates in public spaces. Before his current roles, Treasure spent 20 years working in advertising and magazine publishing, founding and later selling the publishing agency TPD. He resides in Orkney with his fiancée, Jane Majendie, a multiple world champion martial artist, and their daughter.
