Julien Baker

Julien Rose Baker is an American singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Known for her poignant lyrical content, her music often confronts issues of spirituality, addiction, and mental illness.

She has received acclaim for her work, notably for her debut album "Sprained Ankle" released in 2015, her second studio album "Turn Out the Lights" in 2017, and her third album, "Little Oblivions," in 2021, which achieved chart success including a top 40 placement on the Billboard 200 chart.

In addition to her solo work, Baker is a member of the indie supergroups Boygenius and a country duo with Torres. Boygenius, which she formed with Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus in 2018, released their debut studio album "The Record" in March 2023, which won several Grammy Awards including Best Alternative Music Album. Their latest release, "The Rest," was launched in October 2023.

Baker has also been recognized for her contributions to the music industry, with six Grammy Award nominations and three wins, including Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance in 2024. She has also received a nomination for a Libera Award for Best Breakthrough Artist, and has been honored with the title of Honorary Professor of Recording Industry at Middle Tennessee State University.

Her recent endeavors include a B-Side EP to "Little Oblivions," a composition for the television series "Orphan Black: Echoes," and performances on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," "CBS This Morning," and "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon." A highlight was her 2024 performance at the Kennedy Center with the National Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, Baker has announced a solo tour for 2024, which includes performances of new songs "Middle Children" and "High In The Basement".
