Junior Bridgeman is an American businessman and former professional basketball player. Bridgeman played in the NBA for twelve years from 1975 until 1987, beginning his career with the Milwaukee Bucks. Despite never making more than $350,000 a season during his NBA career, Bridgeman transitioned into a successful business career, amassing a net worth of over $600 million. This financial success makes him one of the wealthiest former athletes in the world.
During the off-seasons of his NBA career, Bridgeman laid the groundwork for his post-retirement career, working and learning the business model of Wendy's fast food restaurant franchise. After his retirement from the NBA, he wasted no time and invested in the franchise. Eventually, Bridgeman built a portfolio of over 100 various Wendy's and Chili's restaurants, before selling them off in 2016.
As the President and CEO of Bridgeman Foods Inc, Bridgeman expanded his business landscape into the beverage industry in 2017. He became a bottler for The Coca-Cola Company, and in 2018, he signed a letter of intent to buy bottling operations in Canada. In December 2020, via Bridgeman Sports and Media, he extended his media presence by purchasing Ebony and Jet magazines for $14 million.
