Kai Lenny

Professional big wave surfer, author, and TV personality Kai Lenny is the epitome of multi-hyphenate when it comes to a modern-day waterman. Lenny dominates in big wave surfing, stand-up paddling (SUP) surfing and racing, tow-in surfing, kite surfing, and hydrofoiling – for which he is widely considered the pioneer on the open ocean. Surfing since the age of 5, Lenny became a sponsored pro athlete at just 9 years old and was behind a kite before he was 10. An explosive athlete in multiple dynamic sports, Lenny has done the grueling 50km Molokai to Oahu paddle many times, is a veteran of the Professional Windsurfing Association World Wave Tour, has been runner-up at the Kite Surf Pro World Championships, and has won the SUP World Title eight times and counting.

Lenny is the author of "Big Wave Surfer: The Greatest Rides of Our Lives," a jaw-dropping photographic exploration of the world of big wave surfing. He’s also a prolific creator on YouTube, offering a glimpse of his incredible journey as a pro athlete. Lenny has also successfully ventured into Hollywood TV and film pursuits, starring in the feature film PE’AHI, Red Bull TV’s Life of Kai, and HBO’s 100 Foot Wave. He has accomplished such feats as windsurfing across Lake Michigan, racing the Americas Cup Boat, Oracle, on a kite surfboard, kite SUP and windsurfed from Maui’s North Shore to Waikiki in one day, and foil surfed and kited 50 miles from the Big Island to Maui in an effort to raise awareness around plastic pollution.
