Karen Alpert is recognized for her blog, "Baby Sideburns," in which she began depicting the realistic aspects of parenting and countering the often-perfected portrayal on social media. She gained significant online traction, expanding her blog's readership from 170 to 150,000 in just a year.
In 2013, Alpert self-published her first book, "I Heart My Little A-Holes," which made it to Amazon's Top 100 and became a New York Times bestseller within its first week of release. Consequently, it was embraced by HarperCollins and saw a re-release in April 2014. In 2016, she followed this success by authoring another book, "I Want My Epidural Back," which was published by William Morrow. In 2021, she released "Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be A-Holes."
