Kat Lazo

Kat Lazo is an award-winning director, producer, and host. The Colombian-Peruvian New Yorker has built a notable career both in front of and behind the camera, leveraging her background and expertise to shed light on diverse Latine cultures and issues.

Lazo's extensive experience in digital video production spans over 8 years, with her work receiving attention from major outlets like the New York Times, HuffPost, and BuzzFeed. She initially gained prominence as a YouTuber, eventually transitioning to larger platforms where she continued to make impactful content. Notably, she worked as a video producer for the Latine digital platform Mitú, where she created and hosted the popular series "The Kat Call." This show, which debunked taboos and misconceptions about the Latino community, amassed more than 20 million views across three seasons.

In addition to her work at Mitú, Lazo has been a dynamic host across various media platforms. She hosted the travel show "Barrio USA" on Thrillist, exploring diverse Latine subcultures throughout the United States. Lazo also brought daily updates on pop culture and global news to millions of listeners as the host of Spotify’s exclusive flagship morning show "The Get Up."

Her documentary work includes producing an untitled socio-political feature about Reggaeton for Universal Music and the docuseries "De La Calle" for Paramount+, exploring the sounds of the Latine diaspora. Previously, she produced a documentary traveling across Latin America and the Caribbean focusing on Reggaetón.
