Kathryn Schulz is a staff writer at "The New Yorker" and the author of "Lost & Found," published in 2022. Her previous book is titled "Being Wrong: Adventures in the Margin of Error". Schulz won a Pulitzer Prize and a National Magazine Award for her article "The Really Big One," an in-depth exploration of seismic risks in the Pacific Northwest.
Her book "Lost & Found" was inspired by “Losing Streak,” which was originally published in "The New Yorker" and later featured in "The Best American Essays". Her diverse range of essays and reporting has also been included in "The Best American Science and Nature Writing", "The Best American Travel Writing", and "The Best American Food Writing".
Originally from Ohio, Schulz now resides with her family on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
